IMPORTANT INFORMATIONFirst of all...
Kaspersky can give a lot of problems :
- unable to install, system hang
- hang of processes ( CCE for example )
- etc...
due to Kaspersky Internet Security, or other Kaspersky's running processes
1) I can't install, MSI gives me an errordon't run MSI but SETUP.EXE
2) I get always an error whenever I load a file Error: An attempt was made to load a program with a incorrect format.....

the cause: confusion between 32bits and 64bits in the file MediaInfo.DLL, something in your windows 64 bits that is bad configured
AVI2ISO or MKV2AC3 setup packages have the right versions, but in some x64 systems running in x86 compatibility mode can give this type of problem.
here is de 32bits and 64bits of that offending DLL, download both of them :
32 bits :
http://avi2iso.planetaclix.pt/MediaInfo_32.zip64bits:
http://avi2iso.planetaclix.pt/MediaInfo_64.zipinstructions : just unzip and update that DLL ( located in the program main folder ) with one version that works, one of them should work.
3) Why AVI2ISO is so huge ? - Because it can join movies with CD1 and CD2 at once, including subtitles
using Mencoder : takes 7 MB
- Because it has everything that is needed to convert MKV : takes 17 MB +/-
4) Why AVI2ISO needs to access internet ? It needs only to read the messages from this forum, you will see all forum messages in a RSS List inside AVI2ISO
5) when I convert there is no DVD, only a video file and audio fileCheck Authoring TAB if you have :
Muxing Audio and Video + Make DVD Compilation
You should select that in order to make the DVD
6) Multiplex always fails- FAT systems will always fail because it can't handle files bigger than 3.8 GB, AVI2ISO will try to author a DVD close to 4.4 GB.
Convert your disk to NTFS, AVI2ISO is not compatible with FAT systems
- High fragmented disks can cause a lot of problems, hang of processes, other errors and so on....defrag your disk with a Windows Disk Utility
- low space disk, AVI2ISO needs at least 15 GB for safe operation, and much more if you keep temporaries
- disks with partitions, external disks, can also give problems, but is very rare
- Long path names with special characteres will fail in some cases, this is a very common mistake and very problematic
does your source reside in a long, long path name with special characters ?
do you select a working path with long, long path name with special characters ?
put all in short path names with regular characters and try again
if you can't fix the previous cases, here is a workaround for multiplex
uncheck multiplex in Author Tab, and do by yourself the multiplex using Muxman (included in AVI2ISO's DVDAuthor folder), or using other third-part software such as DVD Lab
7) Pulldown failed giving a message : Can't Open FileDon't use long path names, and try to rename your movie to something smaller like : MOVIE.AVI
8 ) AC3 audio volume to lowenable AC3 Normalize in Audio Tab, give a soft volume gain or higher
9) AVI2ISO can't join different types of moviesThat's false
AVI2ISO has two join methods :
- join at once ( that's why AVI2ISO is so huge, takes 7MB for this with mencoder )
- authoring join
use Join Jobs, jobs panel in the bottom of the main window
The normal join ( join at once ), i.e., when you add all to inputs....may fail in some cases, it is not suitable for different type of movies or episodes...it can crash.
Join Jobs can author all together in a single DVD without limits
10) Lots of errors...jumps, gitters, freezesDoes your DVD play smoothly in your PC ? what media are you using ? crappy media is the leading cause of this type of problem
- Use Verbatim, I heard good reviews about it, DVD-R is a good start..
- try your problematic DVD disk in another player, from a friend...girlfriend....
- reduce the burning speed down to 8x
- burn the disk using DVD Shrink or ImgBurn
Try to advance faster in the Player Command, just to skip that initial frames
11 ) subtitles doesn't look good, bad shapedtry to change the Font to Microsoft Sans Serif, some fonts gives bad quality
check other options in subtitles tab
12) Aspect ratio doesn't look goodgo to menu TWEAKS and select your preference
I recommend 4:3 for small TVs
and the AVI2ISO defaults for wide screen TVs
There is also a Overscan option that you should try
13 ) Audio out of syncThe best A/V sync ratio is achieved when you keep the original region format, i.e., if it is PAL you should convert in PAL, when it is a NTSC source you should convert in NTSC
Also, try to use JOIN JOBS when using multiple files, sometimes JOIN AT ONCE can give audio problems with bad sources. Insert a single file per job and make JOIN JOBS afterwards
AVI2ISO version 2.10 doesn't touch the audio, doesn't make any framerate conversions ( uses pulldown method )
If you have a lot of sync problems don't make any other task during conversion, a lot of conversion tools doesn't sync if the PC is very busy with other tasks
Just let it convert and wait
14) AVI2ISO is damn slowYes, with jurassic PCs
buy a Dual Core at least or buy CCE SP which is much, much faster
Check your running processes in the system, see if something is slowing down the conversion
Also, you don't need to make a ISO ( Image ), go to Author Tab and make just a DVD compilation that you can burn with Nero or other tools
15) Does AVI2ISO support AAC audio or DTS ? Yes it does
16) I want to convert a MKV (HD) movie, but I don't get the DVD only a few files Some MKV are bad, just use MKVToolnix...and remux the MKV
that should fix any errors in the MKV container, and try again
17) CCE Crashes after finished encoding Error Message : the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
try to use another antivirus, I use AVAST free and never got that error, but I know that kaspersky can cause that type of error
Error Message : Application Error
AVISource method can cause this, AVI2ISO avoids that by killing that error but only for some Windows Languages
If your system language is not supported you can put in here a image of the error in order to be included in AVI2ISO
18 ) PREVIEW in menu image is small - cropped That's because you have FFDSHOW bad configured, and it takes control over the image preview, try to run this fix :
http://rapidshare.com/files/106171459/ffdshow.reg19) Where does AVI2ISO save all settings ? In your Windows Registry, in this address :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Freeware\AVI2ISO210
LAST BUT NOT LEAST Some errors are due to :
Codecs bad installation, AC3 Filter ... etc
AVI2ISO bad installation, or corrupted
try to make a clean install of AVI2ISO and the recommended codecs
AVISynth is the heart of this tool
Golden Rule: Keep the program up to date, report bugs
