For someone who needs here is an all STEP-BY-STEP tutorial to restore completely a damaged PC with codecs conflits and issues like that

This CODECS list are recommended to use with AVI2ISO to give you the best sync, and results

---------------------------------------------------
To clean up the system

ONLY, AND ONLY FOR WINDOWS XP

---------------------------------------------------

1) start the system in Safe Mode
2) remove all installed codec packs you have, control panel : add/remove programs
3) use o Codec_Sniper, and remove all, and I mean literally everything in the list

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Codec_Sniper

4) remove all .AX files in Windows/System32

Be aware not to do a fatal mistake, it is your system path...

At this point you have a perfect clean windows, but a USELESS MEDIA MACHINE, nothing works

--------------------------------------------------
RESTORING THE SYSTEM
--------------------------------------------------

1) Install Koepi XviD

2) Install Fraunhofer MPEG Layer-3

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPEG_Layer_3_Codec.htm

3) Install AC3-Filter

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AC3_Filter.htm

4) Install AC3-ACM decompressor

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AC-3_ACM_Decompressor.htm

Useful for vdub

5) Install DIV-3, Low-motion

http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Codecs/XviD-1.1.3-28062007.exe

or

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DivX_3.11

At this point you can play AVI files

NOTE: I also recommend CCCP because is useful for playing Youtube Videos and some other exotic formats. Is a light version of FFDSHOW

How to configure CCCP : just DISABLE ALL codecs, and ENABLE 1-by-1 as you need...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FIX for playing DVDs, Mpegs, WMVs e and other formats
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Make a repair installation of NERO...it will restore all needed codecs to playback VOBs, DVDs..MPEGs...., and much more

I like NERO, and Nero Showtime is my primary player for DVDs...

Be aware of the version of NERO

2) reinstall Windows Media Player

This will restore all the filters to play WMV and other stuff

------------------------------
FIX for Subtitles
------------------------------

Render for subtitles in order to work with all players

1) Direct vobSub

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DirectVobSub.htm

------------------------------
Some extra info and DEBUGs
------------------------------

1) VSO ConvertXtoDVD doesn't need codecs. It has and uses it's own libraries

Run VSO in a formated machine and it just works

2) I never discharge this tools to check my system codecs
