I am using Win 7 Ultimate edition. While version 1.01.02 - Beta installed and worked properly the latest version 1.02.02 continues to give errors in MSI. This even after I downloaded the file 3 times.

I do have the older version installed. Do I need to uninstall the older version first?

Any suggestions?

don't run MSI but SETUP.EXE

and yes, you need to uninstall the previous version, BUT NOT AVISYNTH.....don't reinstall AVISynth all over again, just mkv2ac3

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I did use setup.exe. The error was generated by msi.

I am developing bad habits. In recent times my experience has been that the installation programs uninstall the previous version if it can create conflict. In other cases most install on top of the older installation overwriting files as required. Should have known better.

I did as you suggested. Installation then went smoothly. I also like additional options in selecting AC3 bitrate. I have yet to buy a standalone media player that can play mkv files. So I always convert them to avi with xVid-MP4 video and AC3 audio. Your software helps me to a very great extent in this.

Thank you once again for the excellent software.
